Sura Al-Fatiha ("The Opening") is the first chapter of the Quran. Its verses are a prayer for God's guidance and stress the Lordship and Mercy of God. This chapter has a special role in daily prayers, being recited at the start of each unit of prayer.

The characteristics of the Quran |

The Quran has a number of unique characteristics, some of which are as follows:
1- It is the actual Word of Allah (God), not created but revealed for the benefit of all mankind. Allah says: [It is He Who sent down the Criterion to His servant, that it may be an admonition to all creatures] (Quran 25:1).
2- It is complete and comprehensive. The Almighty says: [Nothing have We omitted from the Book] (Quran 6: 38). In another place we read: [And We have sent down to thee the Book explaining all things] (Quran 16: 89).

"The Quran is the Final Revelation from the Creator to humanity. It was revealed in the year 610 CE to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and completed over a period of 23 years. These 23 years of revelation resulted in a book which comprised of 114 chapters and over 6000 verses. All of this was to become the primary source of law for the whole of mankind to live and die by. Quran includes all the subjects that concern human beings, such as doctrine, family, wisdom, worship, economy, etc. The main theme is the relationship between God and human beings.
